Positional Accuracy There is no known issue from the process of deriving the forest cover statistics. However, the accuracy depends on the accuracy of the raw data: Forest Cover in Cambodia (1973 - 2014) and the Cambodian Economic Census (2011). (See the Limitations section on ODC Forest Cover page for more information: http://www.opendevelopmentcambodia.net/briefings/forest-cover/)
Logical Consistency Tbong Khmum, previously a district, was split from Kampong Cham province and formed as a new province by a Royal Decree signed on 31 December 2013. For the purpose of showing trends, the 2014 forest cover in Kampong Cham province includes that of Tboung Khmum province. To date, there is no official administrative boundary map demarcating Tboung Khmum as a province.
Completeness There is no known issue with completeness.
Process Step Data (pixel) was derived from ODC forest cover in Cambodia (1973 - 2014) data (GeoTIFF) and the Cambodian Economic Census (2011) administrative boundary data using a zonal statistics tool in ArcGIS. Using this process, pixel value of each forest cover type for Cambodia was converted to square meters. To find the total percentage of each forest cover type per year and by province, the square meter value of forest cover for each province was divided by the total square meter value of forest cover in Cambodia in the same year and then multiplied by 100. The percent dense forest was added to percent mixed forest in each province. This process produced forest cover by province as a percentage of total land area in each province.
