MoE: Notice​ on dissemination​ of​ the updated​ documents​ for​ environmental​ and​ social​ safety

On 12 March 2020, the Ministry of Environment (MoE) released a public announcement on dissemination​ of​ the updated​ documents​ for​ environmental​ and​ social​ safety in the implementation of the project “Sustainable Landscape and Ecotourism in Cambodia”, in the purpose to increase public awareness and getting feedback to ensuring that the documentation is comprehensive and applicable and reaching the project's environmental and social sustainability.

Those documents include:

1. Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF)
2. Process Framework (PF)
3. Indigenous People Planning Framework (IPPF)
4. Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF)

According to the announcement, the Sustainable Landscape and Ecotourism Project was being initiated by the Ministry of Environment cooperates with the World Bank, under the World Bank's Concession Credit Scheme, aiming to optimize the management of natural resources and promote ecotourism opportunities and non-timber forest product value chains in the Cardamom Mountains-Tonle Sap landscape areas, where seven provinces are targeted, including Kampong Speu, Koh Kong, Pursat, Battambang, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Thom and Siem Reap. At this planning stage, consideration of environmental and social safety management is essential to ensure sustainable development.
