The data was collected from many sources by ODC’s mappers such as government, news, company profiles, reports and NGO agency in both pdf and shapefile format. Geographic data is encoded in the WGS 84, Zone 48 North coordinate reference system.

Report on Mining Sector in Cambodia

The report is prepared to study the Mining Sector in Cambodia. By 2012, there has been approximately 60 mining companies got the license to explore on the land concession particularly iron ore, gold, bauxite, antimony (sb) & chronomium (cr), cement, gemstone, coal resources, fuel minerals. In Cambodia, there are two main regions, North-East & South-West regions are typically rich of natural resources. The main sources of metamorphic, sedimentary, volcanic, and intrusive rock were found in the two regions. Next, the mining industry such as metallic mineral particularly cement in Kampot, gemstone is mostly found in Pailin, Battambang, Ratanakiri, and Mondulkiri Province. The report enumerated leading companies in the mining sector and supported with figure mineral exploration projects, company names, and concession areas. Latter, discussion in the outlook and opportunity. |

NGO Forum on Cambodia: List of Development Projects

The information consisted of project number with code number (EIA-001 - EIA-071); owner of project; date of EIA conducted - between 2007-2013; name of EIA; project location; list of company conducted EIA study; and name of development project with specific locations to be carried out nationwide. These are feasibility studies of various development projects at respective provinces. The projects consisted of hydro-power plant, resort & island development, and agro-industry. There were 72 companies registered and were rewarded projects where the location lied from coastal area - south west to highland region - north-east area. Interestingly, all projects had gone through EIA study by some companies - KCC, Power Engineering Consulting, CES, Green Consultancy, SAWAC Consultants for Development, Team Consulting Engineering and Management, Phanitra Development, CAS, Creative Green Design, CIS, Green Environment Group, and Cambodian Environment. |
