Economic land concessions (ELCs)
This dataset contains a list of ELCs in Cambodia with contract dates starting from 1996 to 2014. The list was updated in November 2017 to included adjustments to ELCs contracts as a result of the Directive 01, starting in 2012, such as land cuts and cancellation of licenses. Due to the lack of publicly available information, this dataset does not include information on reductions of contract durations as a result of the ELCs evaluation process in 2015. The data will be updated from variety of public domain sources such as the government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), research institutes, company websites, and news reports. Geographic data is encoded in the WGS 84, Zone 48 North coordinate reference system.

Based on the results of the inter-ministerial committee meeting for assessment, measurement and evaluation of the economic land concessions (ELCs) dated on 20 July 2015, the Office of the Council of Ministers decided to permit companies to continue procedures in forces over land areas after compensation or cutting non-cultivated land and then re-sign the contracts, and reduce the term of ELCs up to 50 years. Some ELC projects cover the land areas in Phnom Namlear Wildlife Sanctuary, Phnom Prich Wildlife Sanctuary, Phnom Aural Wildlife Sanctuary, and Kirirom National Park. |

This bibliography provided full list of documents about studies on economic land concession, the push and full factors of myth of development in Cambodia, rural livelihood and social development issues addressed in various sources. Furthermore, legal framework: sub-decree, law, directive and policy related to land issues and social development. The documents were gathered from government ministries (ministry of Economic & Finance; Ministry of Land Management, NGOs Forum on Cambodia. In addition, several case study and general information at both regional and international on mining concession in Cambodia were also available. The above information were available at NGOs Forum on Cambodia website which compiled by the Land and Livelihoods Programme. |

NGO Forum on Cambodia: List of Development Projects

The information consisted of project number with code number (EIA-001 - EIA-071); owner of project; date of EIA conducted - between 2007-2013; name of EIA; project location; list of company conducted EIA study; and name of development project with specific locations to be carried out nationwide. These are feasibility studies of various development projects at respective provinces. The projects consisted of hydro-power plant, resort & island development, and agro-industry. There were 72 companies registered and were rewarded projects where the location lied from coastal area - south west to highland region - north-east area. Interestingly, all projects had gone through EIA study by some companies - KCC, Power Engineering Consulting, CES, Green Consultancy, SAWAC Consultants for Development, Team Consulting Engineering and Management, Phanitra Development, CAS, Creative Green Design, CIS, Green Environment Group, and Cambodian Environment. |
