Notification on how to authenticate vehicle identification card, driving license, certificate and technical inspection of vehicles and number plates with QR CODE

On 25 September 2017, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport issued a notification on how to authenticate vehicle identification card, driving license, certificate and technical inspection of vehicles and number plates with QR CODE to make it more convenient to verify and prevent fraud with the following features:

1. UV light:

  • Authentic vehicle identification card and driving licenses contain UV light
  • Using the UV flashlight on the card, the symbol of the ministry will appear clearly

2. QR Code:

  • The above document is justified through the data displayed on the QR Code
  • The real QR Code will only display information on ts.mpwt.gov.kh
  • All information on the card must be the same as the information displayed on the QR Code

3. Special characteristics of the QR Code on the number plate

  • Vehicle identification is shown through the QR Code on the number plate
  • Vehicle owner privacy information will not be displayed via the QR Code on the number plate
  • The number plates of vehicles with below production date must have QR Code
    • Car number plates: 07-2017 (July 2017) and up
    • Other vehicle number plates: 08-2017 (August 2017) up
