On 25 December 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press release on the telephone conversation between Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn and His Excellency Jean-Noël BARROT on Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.
His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister informed his French counterpart of the grave impact of the ongoing hostilities, which have displaced more than half a million Cambodian civilians and created a serious humanitarian crisis. He underscored that the indiscriminate attacks by Thailand have destroyed civilian infrastructure and inflicted significant damage on ancient Cambodian temples, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
