Press release: Defense Secretary briefs Foreign Military Attachés on progress of Cambodia-Thailand Joint Declaration

On 10 November 2025, His Excellency Lieutenant General Rath Dararoth, Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defence (MND), briefed the Military Attaché Corps Phnom Penh (MACPP) on the implementation of the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration. This Declaration, signed on 26 October 2025, serves as a basis for rebuilding trust, peace, and cooperation between Cambodia and Thailand. H.E. Rath Dararoth outlined several priority areas agreed upon, including the release of Cambodian troops, the withdrawal of heavy weapons, humanitarian demining, and the peaceful settlement of boundary issues. The Secretary of State reaffirmed Cambodia’s sincere commitment to implementing its obligations and transforming the border into a zone of peace, friendship, and cooperation, while also expressing gratitude to Malaysia, the United States, China, and other partners for their support.
