Statement of the spokesperson of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia condemning Thailand’s egregious act of aggression and violation of Cambodia’s sovereignty
The Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia issued its strongest condemnation of a brutal attack by Thai armed forces on Cambodian civilians in Prey Chan Village, Banteay Meanchey Province, on 12 November 2025, which killed one person and injured three.
The Senate declared the act a flagrant violation of Cambodia’s sovereignty and a grave breach of international humanitarian law and the ASEAN Charter. The incident is a serious breach of mutual trust, as it occurred despite the recent Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration and other mechanisms committed to the peaceful settlement of disputes. While Cambodia has exercised “utmost restraint” since the ceasefire of 28 July 2025, the Senate affirmed its full support for Prime Minister Hun Manet’s condemnation, warning that any attempt to harm innocent Cambodian citizens will be met with a firm and resolute defense of the nation’s sovereignty.
