ODC Participated in BarCamp Kampong Cham

ODC Research & Volunteer Coordinator and ODC Design Team Leader at Work

From 24 to 25 August 2013, Research and Volunteer Coordinator Chan Penhleak and Design Team Leader Heng Huy Eng participated in the BarCamp event, a tech and entrepreneurship Conference, which was held in Kampong Cham province. The Team gave a presentation to a group of 36 participants on OpenData movement, using ODC as a case study for Cambodia. In attendance were members of the English language Wikipedia, Khmer Wikipedia, Wiki Media, the Open Knowledge Foundation Local Representative, IT Consultant, Social Media Consultant, NGO Technical Advisor, Marketing Manager, Business System Analyst, the Ministry of Education’s ICT Department Representative, students and monks.

Participants were eager to hear about the upcoming ODC Website in Khmer language and hoped to see similar initiatives in the region.

The ODC Team makes plan to participate and present at the upcoming BarCamp Phnom Penh in October. Register and catch the ODC Team in one of the sessions.
