Press release: CHRC condemns Thai military attack on civilians and submits urgent petition to the UN

Following the recent armed attack by the Thai military on Cambodian civilians on 12 November 2025, in Prey Chan village, Banteay Meanchey province, which resulted in Cambodian citizens being killed and injured, the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC) declared that this act constitutes a severe violation of international law and the recent Kuala Lumpur Joint Statement. The CHRC prepared and submitted a petition to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and other regional human rights bodies in an urgent manner. The CHRC also appealed to the international community to hold Thailand fully responsible and take immediate measures to ensure justice for the victims and the protection of all civilians along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
