Press release: Emergency humanitarian relief to support internal displaced persons (IDPs) along the Cambodia-Thai border

On 12 December 2025, the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) issued a statement expressing grave concern over the renewed conflict at the Cambodia-Thailand border since 7 December, which resulted in 57,000 families (197,000 IDPs) being evacuated across six provinces as of 7:00 AM on 11 December 2025. The conflict also caused 10 civilian deaths (including one infant) and 60 injuries. To relieve suffering, the CRC headquarters provided initial emergency relief assistance to support over 7,000 IDP families in safe areas and plans to continue aid to all affected provinces. CRC staff and volunteers are actively assisting with evacuation, camp management, first aid, and providing sanitary kits and care for vulnerable groups. The CRC appealed to the public and philanthropists for continued donations and contributions to ensure sufficient resources for ongoing humanitarian assistance to the IDPs.
