Press release on dissemination workshop on “Tax incentives for informal economy development and income tax”
On 17 December 2025, the General Department of Taxation issued a public announcement regarding a dissemination workshop focused on “Tax Incentives for Informal Economy Development and Income Tax.”
The workshop aimed to educate taxpayers, particularly small and medium enterprise (SME) owners and those in the handicraft sector, about their tax obligations and available incentives. It covered three key areas: tax incentives for informal economy development, income tax regulations, and general tax compliance. The GDT emphasized that tax revenue is essential for providing public services and developing critical infrastructure while strongly encouraging business owners to register for tax to avoid penalties and support Cambodia’s socio-economic growth.
