Press release on the clarification of a case of exporting white sand (Silica) to abroad
On 22 August 2017, Ministry of Mines and Energy issued a press release on the clarification of a case of exporting white sand (Silica) to abroad. The Ministry of Mines and Energy has never issued any legal regulation on the ban on white sand exports. Currently, the Ministry provided sand mining licenses to two companies, namely Mong Rithy Group Co. Ltd. and Sibelco Cambodia Company Limited, which was renamed to Silica Service (Cambodge) Co., Ltd. on 22 October 2016. The total figures of white sand exports from November 2016 until 15 June 2017 were 54,100 MT for Mong Reththy Group Co. Ltd. and 104,000 MT for Silica Service (Cambodge) Co., Ltd..
