Press release: Outcomes of the 28th ASEAN-China Summit, ASEAN-New Zealand Commemorative Summit, and 5th ASEAN-Australia Summit
On 29 October 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) issued a press release summarizing the outcomes of the 28th ASEAN-China, ASEAN-New Zealand Commemorative, and 5th ASEAN-Australia Summits.
At the ASEAN-China Summit, the ACFTA 3.0 Upgrade Protocol was signed, and PM Hun Manet thanked China for supporting the Cambodia-Thailand ceasefire. The ASEAN-New Zealand Summit established a new Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), with New Zealand pledging major funding for climate and development initiatives. During the ASEAN-Australia Summit, a Joint Statement on Conflict Prevention was adopted, and Australia committed AU$15 million to support migrant worker rights. Across all meetings, PM Hun Manet promoted key priorities like clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and developing digital and green skills.
Separately, the Prime Minister held a talk with Russian Deputy PM Alexei Overchuk. Russia reaffirmed its long-standing friendship and expressed interest in expanding cooperation in trade, agriculture, and energy. The prime minister proposed that a Russian delegation be dispatched to Cambodia to outline concrete next steps.
