On 8 January 2026, the Ministry of Interior issued a press release on the situation following the ceasefire agreement from 6:00 AM on 7 January to 6:00 AM on 8 January 2026.

An additional 7,866 displaced persons returned to their homes. Therefore, as of now, out of a total of more than 640,000 displaced persons, approximately 470,000 displaced persons have returned to their homes. As a result, 178,894 displaced persons remain in displacement camps.
