On 5 December 2025, Cambodia issued a statement at the 22nd Meeting of States Parties to the Ottawa Convention, condemning the military attack by Thailand over unverified and unsubstantiated landmine allegations. Cambodia asserted that it has not laid anti-personnel mines since joining the Convention and will never do so, stating its humanitarian record is globally recognized. Cambodia called for the truth to be upheld through evidence-based, cooperative investigation mechanisms and urged constructive dialogue to ensure peace and stability.
