Ministry of Public Works will restrict the overweight trucks in August
On 08 July 2016, Ministry of Public Works and Transport has released an announcement on “Organizing portable weighbridge” in order to inform all trucking companies, owners operators or truck drivers, and the public to cooperate and to implement the law properly, transparently, loyally and responsibly from August. The use of portable weighbridge will be deployed at factories, warehouses, quarries, construction sites and other sources of heavy shipments before travelling to the destinations. The measure is not only to prevent and combat overloaded transport trucks, but also to maintain the quality and sustainability of road infrastructure, and as well as to reduce government’s spending on maintenance and repairing. To be more effective, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport also asked the public to inform if there is any corruption activity happened during the mission by contacting to the Ministry’s official Facebook page, or calling to their Hotline.
