On 29 December 2025, the State Secretariat of Border Affairs issued a press release regarding the diplomatic note to propose convening an urgent and special meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Commission on Demarcation for Land Boundary.

In this press release, Cambodia proposes an urgent and special meeting to discuss and continue survey and demarcation work during the first week of January 2026 in Siem Reap.
