On 2 April 2026, Spokesperson of the Battambang Provincial Police issued a press release on a traffic accident that caused 5 deaths and 1 injury.

The release stated that the suspect, Siv Cheyseth, was sent to the Battambang Provincial Court for legal proceedings after causing the accident along National Road No. 5 in Moung Ruessei district.
