Construction material imports on the increase
A return to work on larger construction projects in Cambodia is leading to an increase in the impartation of construction materials, experts said yesterday. Cambodia’s construction materials are generally imported from China, Vietnam and Thailand, and also as far afield as Europe, said Khuon Savuth, Statistics Director at the Ministry of Commerce’s Camcontrol Department. Camcontrol figures show US$351.9 million worth of construction materials were given the go-ahead in the first six months of 2011, from $92.9 million in the same period last year.
