Gunawadh back as TVK director eleven days after resignation

Kem Gunawadh was reinstated as director-general of state broadcaster TVK on Wednesday, less than two weeks after his highly publicized resignation for failing to live broadcast the annual Royal Plowing Ceremony, according to a statement signed by Information Minister Khieu Kanharith. Acting Director-General Pang Nath denied on Monday that his former boss was back in the hot seat managing the station and said he had returned to work in a different capacity. But the statement released by the Ministry of Information on Wednesday says Mr. Gunawadh’s resignation has been rejected and that he will return to his position. … On Wednesday, Mr. Gunawadh said he was delighted that his superiors had vetoed his decision to resign. “It was determined by Information Minister Khieu Kanharith that I should continue working to serve the public audience and our state TVK station,” he said. …
