Announcement of the Ministry of Health on the preventive measure of H5N1 bird flu
On 26 February 2020, the Ministry of Health has issued an announcement on the cautions and preventive measures of the H5N1 bird flu disease on which the outbreak took place in Tra province of the socialist Republic of Vietnam on 17 February 2020. The preventive measures is as follow:
- Educate citizens about the potential spread of the H5N1, especially people in Vietnam’s border provinces, to avoid eating dead or sick bird meat and must be properly cooked before eating.
- Wash your hands often with soap before eating and after direct contact with birds.
- If someone has a fever of more than 38.5 degrees Celsius, coughs, wheezing, and a history of contact with sick birds or dead within 14 days, rush to a doctor or call 115 immediately.
