Announcement on the outcomes of the national minimum wage council meeting

On 14 September 2026, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training issued an announcement on the outcome of the national minimum wage council meeting.

As a result, worker representatives proposed two different increase figures: the majority of unions proposed an increase of $15.30, while others proposed an increase of $40.60 over the current rate of $210. Meanwhile, employer representatives proposed maintaining the current rate of US$210, noting that they had previously added $2.50 to help alleviate commuting expenses.
