Japan provides US$1,561,805 for construction of bridges for rural development, promotion of sustainable agricultural conditions for poverty reduction, and promotion of community development through mine clearance
The Government of Japan has agreed to provide US$242,367 to Mondulkiri Provincial Department of Rural Development for “The Project for Constructing Bridges in two Communes in Kaoh Nheaek District, Mondulkiri Province” under the framework of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (“KUSANONE” Grant), US$558,236 to Institute of Environmental Rehabilitation and Conservation (ERECON) for the “Project on Promoting Sustainable Agricultural Conditions for Poverty Reduction in Kampong Cham Province” and US$761,202 to Japan Mine Action Service (JMAS) for the project of “Promotion of Community Development with Demining in Banteay Meanchey” under the framework of the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects. The Grant Contracts were signed at the Embassy of Japan between H.E. Mr. HORINOUCHI Hidehisa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Mr.YORN Sarom, Director of Mondulkiri PDRD, Dr. MIHARA Machito, President of ERECON, and Mr. SHIBATA Mikio, Resident Representative of JMAS.
