Message of the Prime Minister on the measures taken to manage impacts from COVID-19 and the suspension of the EBA tax privilege
On 24 February 2020, Prime Minister Hun Sen has issued a message on the Cambodia governments measures to control and minimize economic risk from COVID-19 and the suspension of the Everything But Arm (EBA) tax privilege. The Prime Minister noted that COVID-19 will affect Cambodia’s key economic sectors and has identified two majors sector that are likely to be heavily affected from the outbreak are tourism and garment and textile. To save,reduce the impact of this economic crisis and to support the national economy, Cambodia governments has decided to introduce emergency intervention measures such as:
- Measures to support tourism sector
- Measures to help the garment, footwear and bag sectors
- Growth-support measures
