On 13 August 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries issued a press release confirming the case of the import of “piranha” fish, which shocked the public. The Fisheries Administration visited and inspected the case on 6 August 2023. The business owner signed a contract to stop importing and agreed to destroy all the Piranha fish.
Meanwhile, the Ministry called on the public to report to the fisheries authorities if they know about importing Piranha or other ferocious fish to raise or raise ornaments for the relevant authorities to take appropriate action.
