On 26 April 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries issued a press release on the preparation and response to hot weather.

Late arrival conditions with low to moderate rainfall and the possibility of a dry season that can occur and last from early July to early August can affect agricultural production.
