Press Release on the result of the meeting on the solutions to the disputed ELC for sugar cane plantation for exportation in 4 provinces: Koh Kong, Kampong Speu, Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey
On 10 October 2017, a meeting discussion on “Solutions to the Disputed Economic Land Concession for Sugar Cane Plantation for Exportation” in 4 provinces: Koh Kong, Kompong Speu, Preah Vihear, and Oddar Meanchey, was held at the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, under the presidency of Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, along with Minister of Commerce, Minister of Environment, Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, Ambassador of the European Union to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Representative of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Representatives of the European Directorate General for Trade, Governors of Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, and Kampong Speu Provinces, and Deputy Governor of Koh Kong Province, NGOs. The four disputed economic land concessions are listed below:
- Koh Kong Province: Dispute between citizens with Heng Huy company, Koh Kong Plantation Co.,ltd and Koh Kong Sugar Industry Co.,ltd.
- Kampong Speu Province: Dispute between citizens with Phnom Penh Sugar, Kampong Speu Sugar and Kampong Speu Plantation.
- Preah Vihear Province: Dispute between citizens and Lan Feng (Cambodia) International Company Limited, Rui Feng (Cambodia) International Company Limited, Heng Yui (Cambodia) International Limited, Heng Rui (Cambodia) International Company Limited and Heng Non (Cambodia) International Company Limited.
- Oddar Meanchey Province: Disputes between the families and (Cambodia) Cane and Sugar Vally, Tonle Sugar Cane and Angkor Sugar Companies.
