Rejection statement: Fabricated and defamatory reports alleging the detention and imprisonment of Thai nationals by Cambodian authorities
On 15 December 2025, the Ministry of Interior issued a rejection statement regarding fabricated and defamatory reports alleging the detention and imprisonment of Thai nationals by Cambodian authorities.
The Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia categorically rejects fabricated and defamatory reports falsely alleging that Cambodian law enforcement authorities have arrested and imprisoned Thai nationals, as well as other distortions of the situation that have misled Thai nationals residing in Cambodia, particularly their family members in the Kingdom of Thailand, through such irresponsible and malicious propaganda.
