On 2 October 2025, H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, addressed the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly on the theme “Better Together: 80 Years and More Peace, Development, and Human Rights.” H.E. emphasized Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to multilateralism, peace, and sustainable development. He urged the global community to renew its trust in the United Nations and called for reforms to strengthen its institutions to address complex modern challenges effectively. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that promoting human dignity, cybersecurity, and climate resilience remains central to the Kingdom’s national priorities.

The statement drew on Cambodia’s own successful transition from a war-torn state to a contributing member of global peacekeeping, attributing this stability and progress to the national Win-Win Policy. He pointed to the subsequent gains in health, education, poverty reduction, and gender equality. Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister called for renewed dialogue and respect for international law to address current global conflicts while also bringing attention to recent border tensions with a neighboring country and advocating for restraint and peaceful resolution.
