Draft Law Aims to Combat Price Dumping
The government is finalizing a draft law that will aim to prevent importers from price dumping and protect local producers by allowing authorities to raise tariffs on goods, according to a copy of the draft law. In the past, local producers have been negatively affected by exporters of goods such as pigs and shoes, who have dumped their products in Cambodia to alleviate over-supply issues at home. According to the draft, dated March 23, a new government committee chaired by Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh will be authorized to investigate claims of price dumping and set a minimum price floor for goods affected by the practice. …
