The government has created a one-window information service to help would-be workers avoid illegal migration to Thailand as part of a bilateral agreement with Thailand, Labor Minister Ith Sam Heng said Thursday. The quick-service windows will help make sure Cambodian workers enter Thailand legally by facilitating contracts between overseas employers and local workers, as well as helping workers with the paperwork required to work abroad, said Mr. Sam Heng. … The windows will be located in Banteay Meanchey, Pailin and Koh Kong provinces, which border Thailand. … Mr. Sam Heng said more than 70,000 Cambodians working in Thailand need their work contracts renewed. He also said that as part of the agreement, Thai officials said their authorities would not open fire on Cambodian laborers who are trying to cross the border. …
