TNT expands Asia Road Network

TNT Express linked its Chinese day-definite domestic road services into its Asia Road Network. This has created the only scheduled day-definite road network covering China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, said the operator. CEO Marie-Christine Lombard said: “With the integration of TNT’s two major road networks in Asia, we will strengthen our position in this market, while providing customers with a cost-effective delivery solution complementary to air freight.” TNT Express said the new service meant a company based, say, in Shanghai could ship its products to South-east Asia. The goods would arrive in Guangzhou, in Guangdong province, within two days and in Pingxiang, on the border with Vietnam, the next day. Upon completion of customs formalities, the shipment would arrive in Hanoi that night.
