Kingdom of Cambodia elected as a member of the ECOSOC

On 13 June 2018, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation released a press release to inform the public that the Kingdom of Cambodia was elected as a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for one year term 2019. In the General Assembly Hall at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Cambodia got the supporting votes 183 out of 188. In the press release, the ministry also mentioned that Cambodia will try its best to contribute in the promotion of 1.) high standard of living, full employment and conditions of economic and social progress and development; 2.) international cultural and educational cooperation; 3.) solution of international economic and social health problem; and 4.) universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
