Announcement on obligations as prescribed by law on associations and non-governmental organizations
On 11 January 2024, the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia released a public announcement on the obligations of associations and non-governmental organizations after notifying that some associations and non-governmental organizations haven’t complied correctly with regulations.
The Ministry of Interior has reminded all registered domestic associations and non-governmental organizations, especially those which have not yet fully complied, of the following points:
- Inform in writing all of its operation bank accounts in the banks in the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Economy and Finance no later than the end of February 2024.
- Inform in writing all amendments to the statues of the association, changes in the position of Chairman or Chief Executive Officer, or changes in bank account information.
- Submit the activity report and annual financial report to the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Economy and Finance no later than the end of February 2024.
- Associations and non-governmental organizations cannot operate opposite of their statues that have been submitted to the Ministry of Interior.
