Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announces ELCs tax revenues
On 25 July 2016, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced that by the end of the first half of this year, Ministry of Agriculture had collected about $600,000 in taxes from economic land concessions (ELCs) from 21 of the 233 private companies that received ELCs from the government. The statement added that currently there are 233 companies with ELCs in the Kingdom on a total area of 1,552,700 hectares, but the actual operated lands is 1,069,000 hectares since there are 112 companies have yet to begin operations or start paying tax.
