Press release on Cambodia-Germany Development Cooperation Talks 2025
On 19 November 2025, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) issued a press release regarding the Cambodia-Germany Development Cooperation Talks 2025. The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGB) and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, with H.E. Chhieng Yanara and Ms. Christina Laun as co-chairs, led the Development Cooperation Talks 2025 on 18-19 November 2025. The primary goals were to discuss the progress of bilateral development cooperation and define future priority sectors. The German side praised Cambodia’s socio-economic development progress under the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I, particularly in reducing poverty and enhancing governance, social protection systems, and public financial management.
The German side highly valued Cambodia as an important partner. Both parties agreed to continue development cooperation in three priority sectors: 1) Sustainable Economic Development, 2) Health and Social Protection, and 3) Energy and Just Energy Transition, along with areas like decentralization and digitalization. Finally, H.E. Chhieng Yanara also expressed deep gratitude for Germany’s ongoing contributions to Cambodia’s development.
