Press release on Cambodia’s protests regarding the the illegal actions of the Thai side
On 30 May 2026, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press release on Cambodia’s protests regarding the illegal actions of the Thai side.
The Royal Government of Cambodia has formally protested against the Thai side’s continued violations of Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the areas illegally occupied by the Thai army since 27 December 2025. The recent protests involve the construction of at least 36 Buddha statues at several locations in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces, as well as the erection of two national flagpoles in Preah Vihear province.
