Press release on the license revocation and liquidation completion of Huione Pay PLC
On 1 December 2025, the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) issued a press release confirming that the payment service provider Huione Pay PLC had its operating license revoked in September 2024 and finalized its legal liquidation process on 19 June 2025. The NBC cautioned the public against unauthorized transactions involving crypto assets, noting that such activities violate current regulations and pose significant risks to the national banking system. Furthermore, the central bank reiterated that no banking or financial institution in Cambodia has been authorized to provide services related to crypto assets as of the date of the notice.
