Press release on the prevention of rock dumping in the river in Srey Santhor district, Kampong Cham province, and other locations
On 24 February 2024, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology issued a press release on the prevention of dumping rocks in the river. The ministry confirmed that rock dumping will cause obstacles or obstruction of the natural flow of water in rivers and is a crime stipulated in Article 36 of the Law on the Management of Water Resources in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology would like to thank the public, the media, and all levels of authorities, especially the Kampong Cham Provincial Administration, for taking urgent action to prevent the dumping of rocks into the river in Prey Toteung village, Russey Srok commune, Srey Santhor district, Kampong Cham province, which participated in the protection of water resources as public property of the state. The Ministry will continue to monitor the set measures issued by the provincial administration to the landowners.
