Statement in response to media questions on the appointment of the chairperson of the Cambodia-Thailand maritime dispute conciliation commission under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea
On 19 July 2026, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in response to media questions on the appointment of the Chairperson of the Cambodia-Thailand Maritime Dispute Conciliation Commission under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation confirmed that the four independent mediators have requested additional time to carefully consider who should be appointed as the Chairperson of the Conciliation Commission. Cambodia and Thailand agreed to the request.
