Minister of Information: We tax only stations that rent and use local frequency

After receiving a letter from the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the request to take actions against the Radio Free Asia and the Voice of America located in Cambodia, which have been actively engaged in broadcasting and renting airtime from other radio stations yet failing to register for tax and operating without licences; the Minister explained that tax is only obtained from those who rent and use local frequency. “We should tax only the radio station who has sold them airtime,” he said. “But if they have a bureau here, they need to ask our permission to operate, if not, it is illegal.” ...
