Photographer Tim Page Swaps War for Land in New Project

The job couldn’t have been more different from the kind that drew Tim Page to Cambodia and Vietnam in the 1960s. The mud, wet boots and sleepless nights described in several of his books were cast aside for an air-conditioned SUV, a laptop and a phone. The assignment: to photograph the Ministry of Land Management’s Land Administration Sub-Sector Program (LASSP), the government initiative that surveys land and issues titles to villagers. At the launch of his new exhibition “Cadastral Convoy” at Meta House on Sunday evening, Mr. Page acknowledged that the assignment was a departure from the wars he covered for most of his career, but said he was pleased to be able to tell what he called a positive story. …
