Number of Airport Passengers Soars in 2012

The number of passengers arriving at Cambodia’s two main airports in the first eight months of the year increased 17.7 percent to more than 1.3 million people, compared to about 1.1 million people during the same period last year, figures released by Cambodian Airports show. Between January and the end of August, 1,345,666 passengers flew in to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap international airports, compared to 1,143,629 over the first eight months in 2011. And with the tourist high season still to come this year, total 2012 airport arrivals are on pace to far surpass those in 2011.
