Press release on Cambodia protests against Thailand’s persistent violations of Cambodian sovereignty and territorial integrity
On 04 September 2026, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press release on Cambodia’s protests against Thailand’s persistent violations of Cambodian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Royal Government of Cambodia has formally lodged a strong protest against the unauthorised entry of Royal Thai Air Force’s helicopter into Cambodian territory, which is a clear violation of Cambodia’s sovereign territory, international law and existing bilateral commitments. On 3 September 2026, a Thai military helicopter intruded 400 metres into Cambodian airspace near the Daung International Border Checkpoint in Kamrieng District, Battambang Province.
