On 25 August 2026, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press release on Cambodia’s strong protest against Thai Prime Minister’s unauthorised visit to Cambodia’s sovereign territory in Preah Vihear province.
The Royal Government of Cambodia emphasizes that no legal right can arise from an unlawful act; therefore, the illegal occupation of Cambodia’s sovereign territory cannot be legitimized by a visit from the Thai Prime Minister.
