Press release on Cambodia’s protests against the Thai military’s persistent violations of Cambodian sovereignty and territorial integrity
On 10 July 2026, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press release on Cambodia’s protests against the Thai military’s persistent violations of Cambodian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Royal Government of Cambodia has formally lodged a strong protest against Thailand’s continued violations of Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity along the border. Between 5 and 7 July 2026, Thai armed forces excavated the earth to construct an earthen embankment and laid barbed wire running from north to south of Boundary Pillar No. 14 in Sangkat O Smach, Samraong City, Oddar Meanchey Province. Later, on 9 July 2026, Thai armed forces encroached upon Cambodian territory to lay barbed wire in the area of Boundary Pillar No. 22 in Thmor Daun Village, Kork Morn Commune, Banteay Ampil District, Oddar Meanchey Province.
