SEZ Shooting Suspect Under Court Supervision

The Svay Rieng Provincial Court has placed former Bavet City Governor Chhouk Bundith under court “supervision” after questioning him last week in connection to the Feb. 20 shooting of three female factory workers, according to investigating Judge Pech Chhoeut. Mr. Chhoeut said the ex-governor was questioned on May 22 over his role in the shooting of the three garment workers during a protest at a Bavet City special economic zone. Though witnesses say Mr. Bundith fired at the workers during a factory protest, the provincial prosecutor has charged him with causing unintentional injuries. …
