On 26 July 2026, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries issued a press release on the discovery of a dead dolphin in Sangkat Svay Chrum, Ariksat City, Kandal Province.
On 24 July 2026, a dead dolphin was discovered at Svay Chrum Village, Sangkat Svay Chrum, Ariksat City, Kandal Province. A careful examination by experts from the General Department of Fisheries in collaboration with WWF revealed that the dolphin, ID number 018, was a male dolphin, approximately 12 to 14 years old, 2 meters long, and weighed 64 kilograms, that used to live in the Anlong Kampi area of Kratie Province.
