Cambodia’s parliament approves $3.9 bil. budget for 2015
Cambodia’s National Assembly has adopted the government’s $3.9 billion budget for 2015 over the objections of opposition lawmakers, the parliament’s spokesman said Saturday.
Spokesman Chheang Von of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party told Kyodo News that the budget was approved late Friday by 65 of the 108 assembly members who were present. The National Assembly has 123 seats. …
The approved budget allows the government to borrow 600 million in special drawing rights, the unit of account of the International Monetary Fund, equivalent to about $878 million, as an additional reserve fund.
